The Venue

The Akaroa Cooking School is situated in the site of the former Bruce Hotel which was Canterburys first residential hotel built in 1842. The current building retains much of the bygone era with large verandahs and old timber beams throughout. A new kitchen has been installed for the school and two large oak dining tables complete the cooking & eating experience. The school is light, airy & modern with spectacular views across Akaroa harbour and surrounding hills. It is a fantastic place to learn about, cook & eat fantastic food. Additionally The Akaroa Cooking School is a wonderful venue for private hires including pre/post wedding get togethers or perhaps a milestone birthday party.
