The Akaroa Cooking School is where people to come and learn how to cook using the finest quality and freshest of local, seasonal, produce. We match each of our dishes with award winning local wines to showcase each dish, and to emphasise what an abundance of amazing produce we have right here, on our back doorstep. The day is a completely indulgent experience of eating exquisite food, drinking fine wine, and learning the tips and techniques to recreate all of the dishes in your own home whilst having a lot of fun and laughter along the way. We believe that cooking should be a fun part of everyday life and that each meal should be savoured and shared with friends and family wherever possible.
We keep our classes small so that every guest feels that they have plenty of one on one time with the chef and can ask as many questions as possible to get the most out of their day. We want our guests to leave feeling that we have far exceeded their expectations of what their day was going to involve.
We grow much of the produce for the school ourselves, and we collect the rest from local suppliers and artisan producers. We provide loads of information on where the general public can source such amazing produce and share all of our favourite suppliers throughout the region.
We are located in the gorgeous seaside town of Akaroa ... just over an hours scenic drive from Christchurch. Our school is right on the waterfront with spectacular views of the harbour and surrounding hills.
